We've seen so many styles of Dr. Martens over the years: the classic 10- and 14-holes, the knee highs, and this year's British-inspired wingtips. One style that's become increasingly popular is the vintage Dr. Marten boot.

One of the most wanted styles is the black vintage model – the 1490, which has been made according to the original specifications from the '60s. It features slimmer horizontal tread bars, darker-colored PVC and an indentation on the welt left by the stitching machine. The original has a rugged yet masculine appeal that's an exact replica of the originals.

As popularity for vintage Dr. Martens boots soars, shoe factories have expanded to meet the demand for these English-made boots. There are factories in England that have added employees and machines to produce vintage Dr. Martens at a faster rate.
